Dead Photog - 1, Spin Kloo - 0

Joe
1978
by Robert Mapplethorpe

While browsing the photos at http://www.masters-of-photography.com/, I came across this image by Robert Mapplethorpe. Before, I mainly knew about him because of his connection with Patti Smith. That just shows how unbelievably unhip I am to the art world, past and present.

Mapplethorpe did other portraits of s&m folk. View another example here, and a quick google image search brings up more. This sure beats the dead gloss known as fetish photography nowadaze.

Get Into Focus On It

Look! An ad poster with latex for Focus on Imaging, an annual European trade show for cameras and shit. (The party starts in '09.) Credit for the picture goes to a pretty cool dude named Justin Focus. The title is "The Photo Evangelist." Go here to see a snappy making-of video.
Do not ask me the clothing brands. Two reasons: 1) I don't give a flying shit; and 2) they're not any of mine.

Rising Fetish Photographer: S. Jenx

Keep your eyes out for photographer and graphic designer S. Jenx. His artwork bleeds dark surrealism-- it's definately not your average stock fetish imagery. He's been shooting for 17 years and his influences range from Carravagio to Cindy Sherman. I think it definately shows. Drool over this photo of NYC model Cyndie Myst modeling Betty LaBamba latex. Ok, enough with the drooling now. Wipe your mouth.

Phantastic Photographer

Check out this amazing photographer, Eugenio Recuenco. His work is absolutely stunning. Oh, I'm in love!

Description from his website:

eugenio recuenco is a spanish photographer who is a pain in the ass becausehe always insists on doing whatever he wants. He works for quite a number ofclients both in the advertising and editorial fields all over the World who arealso a pain in the ass, because they always want to do whatever they want. Outof these fights between hardheadeds it has been possible to rescue the imagesfor this web site, some better, some worse, but made with lots of enthusiasm andwith the support of a great team who refer to themselves as "The Eye ofFrosker". The latter is an entity that has came to the earth to bother some andalso to amuse some others. If you are one of the latter, stop fooling arroundand get in.

Lover of Latex: L.A. Tex

"The original idea was to make the kind of fetish website that I was looking for when surfing the net, but that I could never find. A website that has tasteful erotic but not pornographic fetish images, a website that has original images and not just a bunch of pictures scanned out of magazines or taken from other websites or newsgroups. In a way what I was looking for was a website that you could show to friends that are not into fetishism and they would still think it's nice and maybe even understand why you (or I) liked latex-clothing."
--Alexander Horn

A pal from Rubberpal and Myspace [Shout out! You know who you are. If you want me to link to your myspace profile instead, lemme know.] recently re-brought to my attention the wonderful rubber lovin' photographer Alexander Horn aka L.A. Tex.

It's free. It's extensive. Be prepared to spend hours looking at his work! Note: if you missed a major fetish party or want to relive it, chances are Mr. Horn covered it.

There's also a latex news section. Between that and 3xl, you got your international latex goings on covered.

Show some love by writing a funny caption. And respecting his copyright. Don't cop shit that ain't yours. It ruins the party for us goodie-two-shoes!
